After having the wallpaper removed from their bathroom and kitchen, the family in this home wanted wall finishes that would create a warm Tuscan feel. In the bathroom off the hallway, I taped off grout lines and painted it to look like stone walls. working quickly and using a soft, warm palette these walls do not appear heavy but actually makes the small room feel taller and open. At first glance they appear to be real.
The finish I designed for the kitchen and the hallway to the bathroom began with two warm, stone colors applied at the same time with accents of a subtle terra cotta red added later. With a finishing touch of a light overglaze to create the look of stucco, these rooms were transformed into warm and sunny surroundings the family loves living in.
